Pet portrait makes an unique personalized gift for Christmas, birthdays, weddings and other special occassions. It is also a wonderful way to celebrate a cherished pet or to remember those we have lost.

I would be happy to create a painting of your beloved dog, cat or horse. My objective is to capture the personality of every animal I paint.

How to commission a pet portrait

Pieces take 4-6 weeks to complete including drying time (fast drying alkyd Oil is used to speed up the process). Please allow enough time if you need the painting as a gift to a specific date.

You can e-mail photographs or sent by post. Please note that for the best result the photographs should be at least 1000 pixels along longer size (for digital images) and not blurry. I am happy to come and take photographs of your pet if you live in Scottish Borders or Lothians.

Before starting the painting I will email you a sketch to approve composition (usually a computer-manipulated source photo). If you are happy with the sketch I would ask you to pay 30% deposit to cover cost of materials.

Once piece is complete I will send you a digital photo for your approval. At this stage it would be possible to make some changed to the painting. When you are happy with your painting it will be left left drying for 3 weeks and then varnished and posted to you on receipt of balance payment. The painting will be supplied unframed by insured Royal Mail Special Delivery.
